Before Buying Overpriced Ink:
If you’re viewing this page then you probably understand how rediculously overpriced ink cartridges can be. This is usually how companies earn money after selling printers for a lower cost. Luckily for us however, there is a way around paying for such high priced ink and toner cartridges. I’m talking about remanufactured ink cartridges that you can purchase through online stores for around half the price of what you find in local stores.

Used Ink and Toner Cartridges:
Unlike the cartridges you would find in local stores, these cartridges have been used at least once and refilled by a third party. Some stores will even manufacture their own cartridges that are compatible with multiple printers and are still sold for half the price of regular ink or toner cartridges. If you don’t mind buying a product as “used” then by buying these remanufactured ink cartridges, you will be saving yourself a lot of money in the long run.
Recycling Cartridges Helps The Environment:
Also, this method of reusing ink cartridges helps the environment as it is a form of recycling. By recycling these cartridges, stores can send them through a remanufacturing process that will check for the integreity of the cartridge, its components, and then refill it with the same high quality ink you would find in local stores. Each cartridge is thoroughly tested after assembly to make sure it meets all standards.
Three Solutions to Buying Printer Cartridges Online
We all known how expensive those pesky ink or toner cartridges can be if you buy them at a local store. Even if you shop online, if you don’t know the other methods of purchasing cartridges, you still end up paying for overpriced ink and toner. There are ways around this however, and I want to give you some insight so you can save some money next time you run out of printer ink.
The first, and most used, method of buying printer cartridges is to buy the OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) version. This is basically what you find at Target, Best Buy, Walmart, etc in those little high priced packages. The reason these things cost so much is because these companies are usually losing money when selling printers so they rack up prices on ink, toner, and paper to earn some profit. You can purchase these locally or online but you may find some good discounted prices for them if you search online.
The second method I want to cover is buying the remanufactured cartridges. These cartridges have been through at least one cycle of use and have since been recycled to be used again. There is a lengthy task in refilling these cartridges with ink but the end result is usually a longer lasting, higher quality ink and toner. You can also find certain compatible cartridges that have been made by third parties for distribution in online stores. These compatible cartridges are able to work with a select amount of different printer models which is a nice bonus. Remanufactured or compatible cartridges are usually available for about half the price of the standard OEM ones. That’s a pretty sweet deal!
The last method is basically when you manually refill your own ink cartridges and toner cartridges with a refill kit and instructions provided by the online store. This may sound off putting but in the long run, it is probably the most cost effective method. However, refill kits are not always available for every printer model out there.
